An adverb modifies (changes or is "about" in this case) a verb.

EXAMPLE:Sally ran QUICKLY.
Here, "Quickly" modifies how Sally RAN.

An adjective modifies a noun.

EXAMPLE: Sally is quick.
Here, "Quick" modifies SALLY herself.

Adjective: is word that describes something. Usually is before or after a noun or pronoun. For example The black cat walks down the dark street.
black and dark are adjectives.

An adverb indicates a time, place, cause, or degree and answers questions such as "how," "when," "where," "how much".
They usually end in "ly"
I hope this helps good luck.

an adjective describes something, and adverd discribes how something is done. example of an adjective: the cat is ORANGE with WHITE stripes. example of an adverb: she ran QUICKLY during gym class. adverbs usually end in -ly by the way.

A adverb will generally end in the letters ly-examples quickly, modestly, warmly etc. they ae still describing something-
adjective would be say like "I bought a new car" new would be the adjective as it is not a car being describes but a "new" car.

An adverb describes an action, like:

John jumped high (high is an adverb).

An adjective descrives a noun, like:

Johns red coat is nice. (red is an adjective, nice is not)

An adjective describes a thing.

Eg:
The car is *red*.
My house is *big*.
I have a *lovely* girlfriend.

An adverb describes an action. Adverbs often end in 'ly', but not always.

Eg:
I walked *slowly*.
He studies *daily*.
She reads *well*.

To make this easier to understand ...

An adjective would answer the question "What is your house like?" (It is big, it is red, it is lovely etc.)

An adverb would answer the question "How did you walk?" (I walked slowly, I walked thoughtfully, I walked well etc.)

An adjective describes a person, place or thing, but an adverb describes a verb, or another adverb. Adverbs usually end in "ly".
Hope this helped!
