Observe how others talk - listen and learn how they pronounce words, construct sentences and use phrases. Watch a good television news channel. NDTV 24 / 7 has some good reporters. Concentrate on the reporters in the studio, as some reporting from the field do not have a good command over the language.
Read - this will help you in construction of sentences, use of proper grammar and the correct usage of words. Read National newspapers and books by famous authors. Remember to check out the meaning of difficult words immediately.
Be confident, make an attempt and very soon you will be speaking the Queen's English.
Good Luck !

Hi there its really nice to give you some helpful info on your english career. First make sure that your sentences are correct while you are on ur conversation with someone. I mean to say tat, u should use the grammar perfectly as it can be understood by the one who listens to you. The best way of practising english is, try to speak to urself (inside) on wat u see and observe from the tv radio or from the person who speak. And watch english movies along with the subtitles as much as you can. I would prefer it is the pretty best way to improve ur english. Learn at least one or two words every day from the dictionary. Indeed it would give u a lot about the meanings and the words. These are being given to you by my own experience. At the time of completion of my +2, i was talking like a crap then i underwent a grammar course and now am about to appear for my bcom third year exam and now am proficient in english and spanish.

Try speaking or conversating with others even if you speak wrong. If you don't find anyone speak in front of mirror. Pretend as if you are talking to another person.

Get an English tutor, then practice, you'll learn a lot from that.

practice is the best way to learn any language. Watch english television, listen to people talk, and engage in conversation with a patient person. Practice makes perfect :)

keep trying and take beginners classes if you can.
good luck to you.

I learned sign language simply by practicing and attempting to do it. You have to engage yourself in situations where you can actually learn. In general, if you are attempting to learn, people will teach you the right way as you go along. Always listen to the way people say things as it will help you speak better later! Good luck

Some great tips here. My advice is to put yourself out there. Don't be afraid of making mistakes and try different things. Get a language exchange with other learners who want to learn your language. This is a great way to improve your spoken English. If you can't find one in your area then there are a lot of websites where you can find language exchanges online.
