In English, why is Che(for Che Guevara) pronounced not /ch/ but /sh/?
first of all, I'm not good at English.
but I'm really eager to know answer for this question.
A few days ago, I heard that a certain character who is in English game pronounced Che /sh/ not /ch/. (for Che Guevara)
Is there any special reason?
I think I heard that although 'che' is prnounced /ch/ in Spanish, Che Guevara is called /sh/e Guevara by people for some reason. Is that true? Or /sh/ is just wrong pronunciation?

In Spanish the right pronounciation is "ch". Sounds like English-speaking people sticked in their mind that "ch" is pronounced as "sh" in Spanish because many of them call "Chávez" as "Shávez".

Spanish is a very efficient language with many dialects. When the ch is said without an abupt airation at the start,it comes out like shicken.ch is more common though.Just like the t has a little d in it or the c has a little g in it or the p has a little b...........many Spanish letters are between two of our letter sounds.

Basically /sh/ is the wrong pronunciation - it should be /tsh/ or /ch/ as you suggest. It could be that some English speakers that have learnt some French pronounce it /sh/ because "it's foreign."
