Post Working in Tokyo, Japan?
Hello, hi!

Ok, I've made all the preparation to go to Japan-

-visa to Japan (it's free)
-host house (a friend)
-money to bear my staying in Japan
-and so on...

I wanna ask if i go there for day one, is there any luck for me to get ANY JOB (temporarily until i get the hold of the situation and working culture in there) if i show to the employer my LEGAL visa AND if i can only understand 1st level of Japanese language including writing in kanji, katakana and hirakana could they accept me as their worker??
By the way i'm not looking for English teaching and i don't hv any B.A. Prefered working in retail shop, a hotel, in hospital or others.
My visa is only three days so if i manage to get a job within these days then i should extend my visa period by showing the ambassador office a letter from the employer as a proof to stay longer in Japan.
I'm a deadly serious to go to Japan!!!
Thank you to all supporters!
Need your advice, help and guide more.
Hope to hear soon and thanks again!

Nayaraba doyara? Sasuga wa ii.

Oh by the way either I'm asking my friend to search jobs for me and my friends here or just seeking through the web to make my staying in Japan more secure..
For the plus fact that i will traveling working to Japan with my 3 to 4 person friends of mine to save renting cost in here that will include small room rent.

I'm so stubbon that I wanted to do all that I wanted! Friends and every body, if you have any information about working opportunies in Japan just please let me know! Yeah I also tried links that you give and still searching.

My purposes to stay and work in Japan is to speak, to live and to think like Japanese! Also I am searching for my professional career in Japan- Working as housekeeping, toilet washer, fast food restaurant or else is just temporary for me! hehe It's a top secret!
Thanks friends

?I have to be painfully honest with you and say that you'd have to be pretty darn lucky to get a job in a 3 day period. It's NOT impossible though, I know some young ladies from the Philippines and two Americans who have jobs at the produce and other sections of the markets I shop at, book store and coffee shop. A few of them were hired on the spot (they already live here though), just lucky. Depends on what the employer is looking for at the time, qualifications, type of visa, length ot stay and bilingual may be a plus. You have to be able to communicate well with co workers to avoid mistakes or misunderstandings. Please check the MOFA site for all the CORRECT info you'll need in the event that you do get a job and can stay here.
http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/
Also, once you get a job, you MIGHT/PROBABLY have to leave Japan and re enter again with the proper working Visa if your 3 day visa cannot be extended for some reason. It's BETTER that you HAVE A JOB lined up BEFORE you come to Japan! You have to get many documents as well, an alien registration card, proof of financial support, proof of employment and sponsors... I just don't want you to come here and expect it to be that easy because it honestly is not. If you have a friend (your host house) perhaps they can line up a job for you BEFORE you get here? Just a thought. Or stay longer than 3 days... Wish I could have been more help. GOOD LUCK and I hope this info helps you figure something out! I LOVE living in Japan and I think you will too if you can figure something out!?*I'm sure you'll get more advice from others too~

Don't come to Japan to strike it rich. That was true 10 years ago but now the salaries have dropped.
I came here to land a big payday and I ended up landing a wife and a shitty life =/

are you talking about the waiver visa? I don;t know where you get the 3 days visa..mostly they would give you 2 weeks the least.
you have a host house, why don't you ask him/her how to get one? money ? not enough, it cost lot there but if you have someone to provide you for the meantime..

When you look for a job, first they would ask your working visa or any kind of visa that you are legal to work or stay for more than a year. Usually they would hire people for long period of time because in any legal company it will take time to process legal documents ,,you know,,,application,,tax etc.
You could find one, but it would not be safe for you. and I think they are not hiring people legally. . and as you enter the country, it would be a violation to work if you are under visitor;s visa so you have to go to Japan Immigration to inquire how to get a job and change the status of your stay or any change in your visa application.

If they find any intention to work there, they might not even let you enter if you are just holding a visitor;s visa. just be honest to the immigration, you could be lucky and get in or find a job,,but still there is risk and be prepared.

I did try to ask my company for my friend a job, they don't hire him because he is holding a student visa and it is good only for a year or so... they mostly like to hire foreigners who have valid visa and stay longer than five years or so.. even the part time job I worked before, they look for someone who could stay longer even though they don't speak much Japanese,,,
I suggest to get an employer before going there and maybe you can apply for a working visa soon...

Japan is good if you do it right...

A 3 day visa??!! I've never heard of those!! Where are you from?

Anyway, you MIGHT be able to line up a job while you're here ... BUT you will have to go back to wherever you are from, arrange the working visa (with the help of your new employers, who will be your guarantors,) and THEN come back here to work.

Don't come here looking for a "multimillion dollar contract" (to quote you!!)

And as you can't speak fluent Japanese, including medical terms, forget working in a hospital except as a cleaner! You say you finished high school in 2002 (on a different question,) but you say nothing about other education.

You might be able to get a job as a skivvy in a hotel - you know, cleaning rooms, etc. The dirty work..

Otherwise, maybe somewhere is looking for a native English speaker who doesn't need fluent Japanese ... to work in a retailers owned by an American company perhaps..?? But it's difficult to imagine how you could find out about it, apply for it, and interview for it in 3 days!!

You can't just 'extend' your visa, or get it changed into a working visa, after you're here. Oh, and by the way, you can't get a visa extended at YOUR country's embassy in Japan! You'd have to go home, and go to the Japanese embassy!!

I hate to say this, but as I've got no idea whether you're a male or a female I will, but if you're a good looking foreign woman you could get a job more easily than a male...
Not necessarily in the sex industry, but in something that gets a bit too close to the sex industry for comfort ... as a 'hostess' in a hostess bar for example. You wouldn't HAVE to prostitute yourself - the same as 'hostesses' in other countries don't HAVE to - but whatever country you're in there's always pressure from the employers to do whatever it takes to keep the 'client' happy...

Or you could be a carer for infirm, elderly Japanese people..! There's even a special loophole (of sorts) been created especially to allow foreign workers into Japan to care for the elderly. I expect you need experience though, but you could probably get it easily enough - there are elderly people everywhere.

Frankly, I don't know why you think that coming to Japan will make you rich!! Life rarely works that way!

But I wish you luck, and I hope your enthusiasm pulls you through!

If it is sightseeing Visa, no one would hire you. Because it is illegal.
