How can I teach a 7 year old student english, when the student doesnt like the subject at all?
Im new at this , and I have a kid student that can care less about learning english, and I need advice on how to approach this one, should I stop teaching him, because his parents are paying for private lessons at their home, but he doesnt care to learn, the student says he hates the subject, and I just hate to teach someone who is being forced to learn something the student doesnt like, should I talk to the parents and stop with this student ?, (by the way Im not the school teacher or nothing like that) im just a private teacher hired to teach english. any advice ?

find out what his interests are then make English analogies.
Or make it more visual somehow..

You need to find something that interest the child...sports, comics a movie something. Use these topics to teach the English. If he likes movies or a certain TV show then have him create his own character, have him draw it out and then write a short story about him. If the kid is interested in sports then choose sports related topics for sentences.
If you find something that interest the child and relate it to the subject they will begin to have fun with it.

I think you need to take a new approach at teaching him. Maybe he isn't interested because he finds it difficult or maybe because you ar an older person? I think you should try incorporating fun and games into your class. Teach him songs or make little games which he will find fun and at the same time get something out of it. Or, if he is into cartoons or soemthing like that, research his favourite cartoon. Then find something which shows that this cartoon also speaks english or has an english website. Maybe he will be more interested if he knows that someone he looks up to says learning english is ok
