Well, Jarod, good to hear you think the English accent is a good one, lad.

May I suggest that you watch the BBC and start speaking like the Newscasters?

Be the easiest way to pick up a cultured Accent, I should think.

Cheers.

Hi. I used to listen to BBC Radio a lot. After a period of time, I was able to pick up their accent. Now, I sound like a regular Limey!

spend a month or more in the UK - that's the fastest way to get your accent. you can also hire an accent trainer but it costs a fortune

Get a dictionary where there is a pronunciation guide which gives the pronunciation in British English. Watch british movies and imitate what you can. Then just practice, practice practice. But before you go about learning accents, slangs or dialects, make sure you brush up on your basic grammar. You should master your English well enough to avoid mistakes such as 'an Chinese' (no offence) before you try speaking with any accent, if not you'll end up sounding so silly.

i am a Chinese, well i can stress to speak like an American and British accent. All you need to do is to watch more British movie and also try to talk more with Ur British friends.Do no be embarrassed, when someone laugh at you look and look at you some kind. Like the chinese saying'one must do more practises in order to achieve'.

Audio is the only way. Either listen to British radio or TV, then repeat after them, on and on and on and on. If U have the chance to go there, will be a great help. I love this accent myself, I never tire of watching BBC world channel. U can have a dose of the BBC news, once a day at least.

British people do not have an accent! All other English speakers do. If the Mother tongue is spoken in the Mother country, it is considered "Pure" Any derivitives of this, are acce3nted!

There are some audios that teach you a British accent. You can go to a bookshop, I guess, for more information on the name of the CDs/ tapes, ..... I'm positive you'll find something.

To learn a british accent just do what i did, watch BBC america alot or if you dont get that channel (i get it on Direct TV) watch monty python movies/ flying circus or any show that was produced by the bbc!
