How do u regain the respect from Adult ESL Students & be able to keep your class ?

 How do u regain the respect from Adult ESL Students & be able to keep your class ?
the students are Educated, managers/manageresses etc. Make the class interesting enough to make them want you to come back and teach them again.

Study their background and develop the curriculum that is practical to their field. Include vocabularies in that field. Bring wall street journals to the class, pick a easy article and use that as a teaching material. (explain and discuss with the class). For everyday conversation, focus on situations that take place in hotels, department stores, restaurants, parties, airports, etc.

Since they are highly educated, I think you need to keep them involved, busy and interested. Since they're ESL students, you need to get them talking, especially about life in a new country, getting and keeping jobs, furthering education. Have them do research and presentations, group work and role playing. Anything to keep them occupied...
